Active Mid Devon, part of Mid Devon District Council, has introduced CoursePro across both its learn to swim and School Swim programmes. With around 2,500 children and more than 30 schools involved across two sites, this move marks a big step forward in how the team manages and delivers its swim offering.
They’ve moved away from paper-based systems and embraced a more connected, efficient way of working — and it’s already set to make a real difference.
From paper to progress
Before CoursePro, everything was done on paper. Progress was tracked using registers and biro ticks. It worked, but it wasn’t easy to scale or report on.
As Haley Walker put it:
“We’ve never had a digital system before. It’s always been paper registers and biro ticks. CoursePro is going to completely change the way we work.”
The shift to digital is giving the team more time, more visibility and more confidence in the way they deliver lessons and track outcomes.
One platform to manage swim and School Swim
CoursePro has been designed to support the full swim journey. That means it helps teams manage everything from weekly learn to swim lessons through to curriculum-based School Swim sessions.
At Active Mid Devon, the team now has:

Making communication easier for parents
With the CommsPortal now in place, parents will be able to log in and view their child’s progress, attendance and key updates — all in one place. It’s expected to make communication much easier and help reduce inbound admin, while giving families better visibility of their child’s swimming journey.
