One Day Coaching and Behaviour Change Workshop

PURPOSE

Obesity stats are frightening. Lifestyle diseases are on the rise and our national health care service is under immense pressure. On the other hand fitness professionals have the real solutions to help overcome these three challenges! There are opportunities to create successful interventions and make a real difference.

There is just one problem, we’ve created a big gap between the people who want to help and the people who need that help!

The problem is that we sometimes confuse our passion for health and fitness with actual skill in helping others improve their own health and fitness.

The focus in our industry is on anatomy and physiology, sets and reps, macro and micro nutrients, the health and fitness industry often ignores the coaching side of coaching. We look at the body, yet ignore the mind

That has to change! We need to coach the human being not just train the human body!

If you don’t yet have the coaching education or psychological tools to facilitate lasting change in another person, you are just not ready to tackle the hard work of coaching clients.

Our one day coaching and behaviour change work shop can begin to be that change

LOGISTICS

  • The workshop will run from 9.30am-5pm.
  • All materials and workbooks/sheets will be provided by Fitronics.
  • A separate space away from the gym floor will be required to run the workshop i.e. no interruptions.
  • A screen to run a powerpoint presentation will be required as well as a flip chart.

WORKSHOP OVERVIEW

  • Closing the gap between Us and Them- Understanding what people want and need by assuming less, listening with compassion and serving the needs of your members. Setting the scene with skills needed for real behaviour change.
  • Client centered coaching vs coach centered coaching
  • Asking good questions to practice active, compassionate listening
  • Focus on what’s awesome not what’s awful
  • Setting the right kinds of goals- turning outcome goals into behaviour goals, avoid goals into approach goals and performance goals into mastery goals.
  • Speak in a way that makes people more likely to change

OUTCOMES

In coaching much of what a person can achieve is governed by what they believe about themselves and what a person believes about themselves may not be the same as what others believe about them. In this workshop you will:

  • Understand the challenges of successful coaching
  • Learn how to set clear goals and overcome limiting beliefs with members/clients using the GROW model
  • Learn how to review goals and progress regularly
  • Learn how to avoid making assumptions
  • Get the right balance between listening, questioning and introducing new ideas.

Adam Daniels

Adam is an accomplished sportman, fitness entrepreneur, Performancs and Impact Coach as well as a former gym owner with an inate desire to see indiviuals, teams and businesses truly thrive.

He has successfully coached a vast array of clients including royalty, senir business leaders, popstars, supermodels and professional athletes (amassing over 22,000 one to one coaching hours).

He has developed and delivered educational prgrammes for some of the world’s leading fitness brands, coached fitness professionals and industry leaders in over 20 countries and has led the eductionals teams for ViPR, PTA Global, Wattbike and Myzone.

Adam attained an Mba in International Sports Management in 2016 and is currently completing as MSc in Coaching and Behaviour Change.
